About Mimi's Bridal Boutique

Mimi's Bridal Boutique is a family-owned bridal shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 2000 by Yvette Mikho. Named after Yvette's youngest daughter, the boutique has spent more than 25 years helping brides across Washtenaw County and Southeast Michigan find their wedding dress and tailor it to fit through an on-site alterations program.


A Designer's Path From Baghdad to Ann Arbor

Before immigrating to the United States in 1990, Yvette Mikho was an established jewelry designer in Baghdad, Iraq, whose pieces were worn by socialites across the city. After settling in Ann Arbor, she opened a tailoring shop and built a reputation for wedding gown alterations. In 2000, drawing on her years of working directly with brides, she opened Mimi's Bridal Boutique on Washtenaw Avenue and named it for her youngest daughter, Mimi.


Today, Yvette is both a fine jewelry designer and the owner of the boutique. Many of the wedding day jewelry pieces sold at Mimi's are her own designs, and the boutique's approach to fit, finish, and detail reflects her background in both jewelry and tailoring.

A Family Business Built on Brides Coming Back

Mimi's has remained a family business since the day it opened. Over the past 25 years, the boutique has played a role in thousands of weddings — many of them for repeat families, where mothers who shopped at Mimi's bring their daughters in years later. That continuity shapes how the team works: every appointment is 90 minutes with the same stylist from the first try-on through final pickup, and every alteration is handled in-house by the boutique's on-site team.

Appointments can be booked online or by calling (734) 623-0890. The boutique is open Tuesday through Thursday 11 AM to 6 PM, Friday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, and is closed Sunday and Monday.
